| Actually, it's hawks and owls and bobcats and baby squirrels and baby opossums, oh my... and lots of 'em! Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort is one of Atlanta's only wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education centers, taking in all manner of injured, ill, and orphaned wildlife, and we need your help! At the Center, you'll learn to care for these precious babies with the ultimate goal of releasing them back to nature. To this end, you'll be making special foods/formulas, feeding the animals, assisting with basic medical care, and preparing release-enclosures that mimic natural habitats. And, naturally, as we are an all-volunteer, hands-on rehabilitation center, cleaning is definitely on the "to-do" list; such as cleaning cages and enclosures, laundering bedding, washing food and water bottles and bowls..., as well as taking care of and helping the Center, itself, grow. We are the animals' caretakers until they are old enough, or well enough, to be on their own, so taking care of them is what we do - from one end to the other! Of course, there are many special rewards for your work - such as experiencing the thrill of watching a baby grow big enough to open its eyes for the first time and start exploring the world around them; or seeing an injured or orphaned animal you fed by hand, and helped nurture back to health, being released, and running free. You'll also be learning about our Ambassador animals, those that can't be released and live at the Center, to help teach others all about them, and how to co-exist with these beautiful creatures. So, come and join us. No other animal rescue provides you with such a unique volunteer opportunity; one that will enrich you, and the world you live in. Ad provided by Idealist.org |
